2012 Goals Update - Before and After

Well I didn't get all our goals accomplished for 2012.  But that's okay, it was a long list with big projects.  You can view my post here.  Maybe next time we shouldn't be so ambitious??

1. House painted - check!

BEFORE

AFTER

I think it turned out really good!  I'm not a fan of the tudor style house so I had our painter only paint the white trim around the windows and peaks instead of everywhere.

2.  The back deck was also painted in this process and we had some new fencing done.  Unfortunately, I didn't take too many photos as I was really pregnant at the time and couldn't care less ;)  I'll take some this spring and give you updates!

3.  Front landscaping.  Not done.  It still looks like above.  I'm hoping to change some of it this spring or summer.

4.  A new bed frame.  Yes!  We got a new bed!

Here is the BEFORE:

AFTER:

Isn't she gorgeous?  It's from Pottery Barn.  I've had my eye on it for awhile.  Unfortunately, the bedskirt that I painstakingly made doesn't go with it.  So I'll have to decide what to do with it later.

5.  Restain dining room table to match buffet.  Still not done.  I'm going to do a future post about my dining room.  I'm still undecided on how to complete this room.  It's been baffling for me since we bought this house.

6. Fix cabinet my son wrecked.  Not done.  I'd like to sand this down to it's wood and leave some of the chippy white paint.  Hopefully this spring!

7.  And finally, bathroom vanity mirrors.  Not done.  I'm not even sure if we're going to do this one.  My hubby was really wanting to get new ones and now we don't seem to mind.  That's what happens when you live a certain way for so long ;)

  1. Um, your house looks incredible. I can't believe the work it must have taken to paint the outside of that thing - it's so beautiful! And that bed - are you kidding me?! It's gorgeous. I thought the first pic was beautiful, but that second one makes the bedroom look like a haven.

  2. What a beautiful house you have! That's the bed I've been contemplating for my bedroom, but I think I cannot afford it :( I love it! Looking forward to what's in store for this new year!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Cristina. The bed was a definite splurge! I was contemplating doing a DIY upholstered bed. Maybe it's something to consider? Have a great week!

  4. Jamie, I just saw your comment on my rustic her crates. I did the vinyl lettering with my cricut. I have since done another version of the crates that I installed on my kitchen wall.

So nice to meet another Canadian.

    1. Oh thanks for letting me know. I was wondering if it was a Cricut or something like it. I'm going to have to request that for my bday this year ;)
      Thanks for letting me know!
