The Invitation
I wanted to share with you the invitation I created for my daughter's first birthday party. I created it through Tiny Prints. I usually create my invitations through Shutterfly but thought I'd give Tiny Prints a try {I think they're owned by the same company anyway}.
I LOVE stationery!! I think in this big world of cyber-everything, holding a piece of cardstock stationery is lovely. Getting something in the mail is even better!! I love mail, seriously, luuuurve it!
Here is our baby girl's sweet invitation:
Here is a close up of the photos. I took a photo of her each month in the same chair. She's always been such a wiggly baby so it's hard to get her to 'pose'. I'm sure any baby is difficult to pose!
Here are some collages I made of those exact photos so you can see them a bit better.
I printed them out on cardstock with just my home printer, hole-punched the top and tied on a string so I could hang them like this:
The Favors
I also love treat bags. It's something special to give each child that comes to a birthday party. So what is inside these cute favor bags??
{I stamped a No. 1 on each bag just like I did for the napkins.
You can click here to see how I did it}
My favorite chocolate {Purdy's is a locally made chocolate from Vancouver, BC. The best in my opinion. Just simple, delicious chocolate with not a lot of fancy stuff in them}. I think if you're going to eat chocolate, then why not the best! I know kids will eat anything but they deserve the best too ;) And since Audrey's birthday is so close to Valentine's Day, I thought a cute chocolate heart was in order.
I also added some cute conversation hearts and some stickers. I don't like to load up the treat bags with lots of stuff {i.e. toys from the dollar store that aren't going to last long}. Kids love adding stickers to crafts and these are just in time for Valentine's Day. The boys got some bug and dino stickers ;)
To close the bag, I just folded it and taped it with some pink washi tape.
I got the twine, napkins, washi tape, treat bags and plates from Kara's Party Ideas.
Next post I'll share how I did the curtains and pom pom flowers!
