My Office Has Goals
Today I’m sharing with you photos of my office in its current state. But my office has goals, big goals. Do any of your rooms have goals? I’m sure they do. My dining room has goals too and they are still not done (almost, but not quite) but since I spend a lot of time here in my office I had to stop some projects in my dining room so I could work on this room.
So let’s tour the current state of my office and see what kind of goals she has (and yes, my office is a girl).
So my office is actually in one end of our long and narrow bonus room upstairs off the master.
I haven’t shown photos of it before mostly because it was a huge mess.
See?
Repositioning the furniture made a huge difference too.
The desk I’ve had for years and it’s seen better days. The right side of the scroll edge has come off, it’s sitting on the floor underneath the desk.
And one of the legs looks like it’s about to come off too but it’s solid wood so it just needs some fixing up.
This awesome old school chair was a garage sale find for $25. Score.
You can see on the right where part of the desk has fallen off. It needs to be scraped and sanded.
We had a piece of glass made for the top because the wood easily scratches.
I’ve stuck postcards from Paris underneath the glass.
I’m going to remove the postcards, do the repairs and paint the desk.
Oh and that sweet lamp? It’s from Distinguished Imports. It’s called the Authors Desk Lamp. I absolutely LOVE it.
It’s so solid and the perfect touch for my Industrial Beachy French style.
At the beginning of the year I splurged and got some furniture from Pottery Barn. That white filing cabinet is one of the pieces I purchased.
Another is this gorgeous Clarissa chandelier.
And don’t you love that B Fearless & Creative artwork? I ordered it from my blogging friend Jen at City Farmhouse. I have another one coming for the right side of the window to balance the space out.
My Silhouette Cameo machine is sitting on two metal organizers from Ikea that I’ve had for years.
And the wall in front of my desk has a random pattern of inspirational magazine tear-outs. They are in a random pattern because they keep falling down!
I’m making a new bulletin board this week. Can’t wait to put it up!
Another clipping just fell down as I typed this post…LOL.
The other side of the room has two bookshelves, one old one and a new one from Pottery Barn with more filing storage.
I’m planning on painting the old one white.
So here is a rundown of what needs to be done:
- paint old bookshelf white
- fix / sand/ paint desk
- make fabric covered bulletin board
- add another piece of artwork from City Farmhouse
- sand chair

I can’t wait to see the room when it’s all done! It already looks great, but I’m sure it will look fabulous when you are done with it. 🙂
